Overview

IT43 RadSense is a high-resolution radar sensor developed by ITAS for contactless detection of human presence, vital signs, and movement in industrial and enclosed environments. Operating in the 60–64 GHz ISM band, it brings enhanced safety and awareness to areas where cameras, PIR sensors, or manual systems fall short. With its compact housing, RadSense integrates seamlessly into safety-critical systems across factories, machinery zones, control rooms, and confined workspaces.

Challenge

In modern industrial settings, ensuring human safety is more critical than ever — especially in:

  • Hazardous machinery zones where unauthorized presence must be detected
  • Operator monitoring in control stations and automated workcells
  • Confined or dim environments where optical systems underperform
  • Hands-free or PPE-heavy areas, where wearable sensors are not viable
Legacy solutions often require line of sight, physical contact, or frequent maintenance, limiting reliability.

Solution

IT43 RadSense delivers safe, non-intrusive sensing built for industrial environments:

  • Operating band: 60–64 GHz (ISM license-free)
  • Detection range: Up to 8 meters
  • Angular resolution: 4.2° (azimuth & elevation)
  • Field of view: ±60° (horizontal & vertical)
  • Vital sign tracking: respiration, motion, micro-movements
  • Temperature tolerance: –40°C to +125°C
  • Power consumption: <3W, 5V input
  • Compact housing: 35 x 45 x 15 mm
  • Connector: Connector type can be customized based on customer and application requirements
  • Optional IP67-rated enclosure for protection in dusty, humid, or rugged spaces
